Introduction

            As we must all have already known, notorious people, especially youngsters, have taken up a new hobby, hacking.  This is made even easier with today’s internet environment.  To make it worse, sites which offer tips and program downloads for hackers are in abundance on the internet.

            Almost everything or anything can be done on the internet today.  And as more and more organisations begin to share this common space, more and more thugs will find it an equally exciting place to create havoc.

            In order to be an effective shared space, systems have to be accessible, but this inevitably opened the gate to sabotage and mischief.  Tiwana puts it clearly: “Hackers and attackers who attack network for love or money are a fact of life”(Tiwana, xiv).
