Lake Tahoe

Most ski resorts offer basic facilities such as lifts, rental of equipments, instructors, etc.  Amongst the 3 biggest are:

Heavenly Valley - boasts the largest snowmaking system naturally, it has 9 mountain peaks with slopes geared 25% beginners, 50% intermediate and 25% expert.

Squaw Valley - site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, with wide range of challenges to skiers at all levels of proficiency, snow school center for children (3-5 years old) and day care center (6 months-3 years).

Sierra Ski Ranch - provides free shuttle bus throughout south shore and Stateline, slopes geared 20% beginners, 60% intermediate, 20% expert.
